2005 - Sep 11: These were the best pictures of surfers I have taken. I had a new camera. But I nearly lost it in the surf. I waded into the water in the north bay. I was up to my knees. The sea was fairly calm but some skilful surfers managed to pull off some great moves. The conditions for taking pictures were perfect. I nearly lost the camera though because I did not realise the tides. I headed back and found myself up to my neck near the North Bay wall. The beach is very deceptive . Fifty metres out the sea was up to my knees but near the wall I was up to my neck. The sea gorges channels and rivers which have slimey green rocks on. I could easily have slipped.
